On October 19th, 300 guests attended the Collaborating For A Cure event in support of pancreatic cancer research at Koerner Hall in Toronto. The fundraising event was the result of a new collaboration created between CFHU and the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation (PCCF) bringing in new donors and raising funds for the partnership between PancOne and IMRIC, supported by CFHU through the Alex U. Soyka collaboration. Combating this disease requires innovative models and collaborative efforts, and continued funding for research and awareness is imperative to helping eradicate this disease. The driving force behind the event was Lead Sponsor Sylvia Soyka and Family. Special guest Dan Harris, Co-Anchor of ABC Nightline and the weekend edition of Good Morning America, spoke on Mindfulness, musical guest included singer Molly Johnson and the evening was co-hosted by stage and screen actors Don McKellar and Daniel MacIvor, both having lost family to this disease.
