MONTREAL - Mayoral Delegation Visit to Hebrew U - November 15, 2016
On Tuesday, November 15, a delegation of 50 members who accompanied Denis Coderre the Mayor of Montreal during his visit in Israel visited the Peter Brojde Center for Innovative Computer Engineering and Science. Among the group participants were Mr. Ari Brojde and Ms. Monette Malewski. Prof. Aharon Agranat, Director of the Center and Mr. Brojde both welcomed the group and Prof. Agranat, together with research fellows of the Center, presented the research activity and achievements of the Peter Brojde Center.
Following this visit, the group proceeded to the Modern Restaurant at the Israel Museum, where they were hosted for the evening by the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University. The group were addressed by Amb. Yossi Gal, Vice President of Hebrew University, as well as by representatives of Yissum Technology Transfer and HUStart. Murray Palay, National Chair of the Canadian Friends, and Rami Kleinmann, President & CEO, both spoke as well, as did the Mayor Coderre, who spoke about the strong connection between Montreal and Israel, and the wish on both sides to continue and enhance the connection.
On Wednesday, November 16, Mr. Jonathan Kaplan, Vice Provost of the Rothberg International School, attended a luncheon and agreement signing with Concordia University. Dr. Alan Sheppard, President of Concordia, presided over the signing. Dr. Sheppard also met with Hebrew University President Menahem Ben-Sasson.
