CFHU Toronto held a special event jointly honouring outgoing chapter president Randy Masters, and incoming president Ira Lindenberg, at Canvas event venue in Toronto. The exciting event was attended by past and present Toronto board members, family, friends and CHFU supporters.
The evening was a celebration of Randy Masters’ years of dedicated leadership, as well as a toast to Ira’s new role and a showcase of his vision for the future. A slideshow highlighting photos from over the years of various Toronto special events and programs was screened head of the evening’s program.
National past chair Ronnie Appleby MC’d the event, with remarks and well wishes being made by National Chair Monette Malewski, Toronto board member Karen Simpson-Radomski, Toronto Director Tamar Kraus, and Randy’s daughter Michelle Masters.
Ronnie and Monette jointly presented Randy with a gift on behalf of CFHU, with Randy then taking the podium to reflect on his years as Chapter president and officially passing the torch to Ira.
Glennie and Nathan Lindenberg (past national chair and HU alumnus) then spoke of Ira’s commitment to CFHU, and their joy at having the second generation continue their legacy of supporting Hebrew University.
Ira graciously thanked Randy for his ongoing support, and presented his vision for chapter, specifically of fundraising for Hebrew University’s Multidisciplinary center for Cannabinoid research. A video highlighting the center was screened, as well as a personalized video message from the center’s director Prof. Yossi Tam.
CFHU’s CEO and President Rami Kleinmann reflected on Randy’s years as chapter president, including outstanding fundraising on behalf of CFHU. Rami also remarked Ira’s eagerness to develop the chapter even further and his dedication to the goal of developing the innovative Cannabinoid research center.
