As part of Hebrew University’s current webinar series about the coronavirus pandemic, Professor Jonathan Huppert gave a live webinar on March 17, 2020.
In his 45-minute presentation, Prof. Huppert gave practical, easy-to-follow tips on how to reduce tension triggered by the current threat to one’s health. A faculty member in the Department of Psychology, Prof. Huppert began by describing the unsettling reactions of many, if not most, people to the worsening pandemic, which include panic, anxiety and stress, all of which he said are perfectly normal.
With the aid of slides – see below – Prof. Huppert outlined cognitive, psychological and emotional coping with the current situation, all based largely on common sense. For those suffering acutely from the new reality caused by the coronavirus crisis, he recommended various ways to better deal with the hardship and its psychological impact.
