About the Max Stern Art Restitution Project
As beneficiaries of the Estate of Dr. Max Stern, Concordia, McGill University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have upheld the legacy of the late gallery owner and art dealer.
The Max Stern Art Restitution Project was co-created in 2005 to resolve injustices caused by Nazi cultural crimes. The initiative has depended on the seminal research of Catherine MacKenzie, a retired Concordia art history professor whose expertise is featured in The Spoils.
